Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childline Free State - Successful Charity 2018
Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childline Free State stands for child protection. Their main priority is protecting children form any form of abuse and neglect. Social Workers step in to protect children from harmful family situations and to support families as they try to change their situation. Childine, in many cases, serves as the initial point of intake, where social work matters are reported, but also provides much needed support to victims of abuse. Prevention Teams, based throughout the Free State, provide support in schools to children and their families. They were founded in 1914, initially to care for the poor, but when the need for welfare services were identified the first Social Worker was appointed in 1938 and they then affiliated with Childine in 2005. The funds raised will help them to care for the children in the Mangaung, Heidedal, Ficksburg, Clocolan, Marquard, Henneman, Virginia and Rosendal areas.
